Hey guys... Sounds like the 5X5 is working for you... Challenging but something you don't get overly frustrated with... Good stuff...

Erik, you're "tres smooth" story is pretty funny, I can relate. Almost killed myself trying to lift a little too much on the dumbbell press the other day when my iPod earphone wire caught on a dumbbell mid lift and I got tangled. It was either me or the earphones... Long story short, I made a little bit of a scene...

E, you could SO kick Joe Pesci's ass (the real one, not the guy at the gym w/ the huge biceps).

I failed at press yesterday too, but plan to do it again tomorrow (90lb). Because I was too lazy to go for cardio in the morning, I was in the gym over 2 hrs - bleh! What's the schedule for tomorrow?

fyi i failed at 5x5 80lb overhead press too... I did 5, 5, 5 (but had to cheat/hop it up), 3, 3F (where I left the bar on my shoulder to rest for a second, then tried to lower my noggin sideways and skim it over my head and caught my glasses... tres smooth!)

the gym was a mad house... took forever to get on the squat rack... joe pesci was doing curls on the squat rack >:(

Thanks, Sean! The BP is really just annoying at this point, the potential for the brain aneurysm is a little more concerning.... hopefully the MRI and MRA will shed some light on that wednesday... Keep up the good work at the gym, I'll be back soon!

Not looking good to reach my goal deadline. My eating during the holidays really put the brakes on weight loss. My back is still tweaked, so I'm avoiding any weight lifting that engages the lower back. (mostly everything)

It looks like I had a big drop, but I switched scales. The adjustment is a pound. My BF% is 25.8 according to the new scale.

Awesome workout man; I am DEAD! It's kinda cheating, but just had to measure the arms and w/ the pump I gained 1.5" - it will be gone tomorrow but it feels good now :)

The scale is from Taylor. We've had it for years, maybe 10. It is not that fancy, so I'm surprised it has "advanced" features.

hehehe... Hate to disappoint, but Facu is probably right... Best to do full circuit until you get comfortable with how you want/need to split up the routine.... The reason for the surprise is that you generally focus a day on one large muscle group and supplement with the smaller complimentary muscles (chest tris/shoulders, back bi's, Legs)... That allows you to spend more time and do a larger variety of exercises on your target group without totally depleting your muscle glycogen stores, and gives you more recovery time for that body part as well... but anyway, you guys are doing awesome and I can't wait until I feel a bit better and am back with you (test run tomorrow!)...

so, I played raquetball with facundo and survived. Oddly enough, I get a more difficult workout playing r-ball with you, although that might just because I get aced more vs facu and don't have to move...

you'd probably have a reasonably interesting match vs him (but lose). I'm still unclear about the rules...

you're so consistent. I think the lesson here is I better lose any weight I need to prior to hitting 35, as it seems to be a much harder fight.

keep up the gym though, i think all of a sudden you'll have a breakthrough.. it's got to be coming soon if the pattern holds.
